Ontario-built 2017 Honda Civic Si Sales Begin Today

The sporty 2017 Honda Civic Si coupe and sedan go on sale today. There's only one trim level, but you do get a choice of how many doors you want. The four-door sedan starts at $28,490 with the two-door coupe ringing in at $400 more.

Both cars use Honda's 1.5L turbo-four making 205 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque. Honda is only offering a six-speed manual on the Si, and they've given it a short-throw shifter to add to the driving experience. Helping put power to both front wheels is a mechanical limited slip differential.

Underneath, the Si gets two-mode adaptive dampers and an adaptive power steering rack. Honda has stiffened the body structure of the Si for improved handling. On top of the stiffer structure and adaptive dampers, the Si has stiffer springs, thicker sway bars, and solid bushings to help the suspension better do its job.

Honda has given the Si a more aggressive front fascia, with large air intakes. At the back are larger spoilers and the sedan gets a special rear bumper. Both Si models get unique 18-inch alloys.

Inside, the Civic Si gets bolstered front sports seats with red stitching. There are red Si logos embroidered on the seats, and the red stitching carries over onto the doors, wheel, and shift boot. In Si tradition, even the gauges and audio system get red lighting.

Honda has given the Si a special 7.0-inch dashboard display that can show performance information like boost, lap times, shift lights, a g-meter, and other telemetry information. The display audio system adds navigation and has a 452-watt 10-speaker stereo.
