Pricing of 2017 GMC Acadia announced

Only a few days after its Canadian debut at the 2016 CIAS in Toronto, pricing of the all-new 2017 GMC Acadia has been announced and MSRP is set to start at $34,995, a $2,525 cut from the previous generation.

The new Acadia remains in the mid-size crossover category, nestled between the GMC Terrain and Yukon, though it is quite a bit smaller than the outgoing model. For 2017, the vehicle has shed 315 kg and is shorter by 178 mm. It will be offered in both a five-seat and a seven-seat layout with five different trim levels, including All Terrain and Denali.

A new 2.5L four-cylinder engine will join the existing 3.6L V6 in the list of available powertrains and will provide an estimated fuel economy of 8.4 L/100 km on the highway. All trim levels of the Acadia will offer standard or optional all-wheel drive and as well as a new drive mode selector that will allow the driver to adapt the vehicle's behaviour to the road conditions. Equipped with the towing package, the new Acadia will offer up to 4,000 lb (1,800 kg) in towing capacity. GM also added that the model will offer even more features and safety technologies, including the IntelliLink system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, front pedestrian braking, forward automatic braking, lane change alert with side blind zone alert and surround vision camera.

The price range for the 2017 GMC Acadia will vary from $34,995 for the SLE trim up to $54,695 for the Denali AWD. The model is expected to go on sale in the spring.
