What happens if I sell my car before the ad runs its course?
If your vehicle or other item sells before the ad is over, call the local Autotrader office and inform the customer service department of the sale so they can remove the ad from the web site as soon as possible, thus avoiding unwanted calls or emails. How can I change some information in my ad such as the asking price, phone number, etc?
To change something in your ad, you should call the local Autotrader office and inform the customer service department of the required modification. The phone number of your local Autotrader office can be found at: http://www.canadatrader.com/general/info/by_phone.aspx

How can I quickly search for my own ad?
Using the "Find My Ad" feature located in the upper right hand corner of the home page, simply enter the phone number from your ad and click [GO]. Remember that our site is updated the Monday after our print publication hits the stands.

How do I determine an asking price for my car?
There are a few ways to determine how much to ask for your vehicle, the easiest being the "Value Finder" tool on the Autotrader web site. The Value finder tool will show you other sellers' asking price for the same type of vehicle. You can then decide how to price you vehicle. The Value finder tool can be found under the Reasearch Tab on the home page or at: http://www.canadatrader.com/general/valuefinder/valuefinder.aspx

Can I place an ad for an old car in this category for free?
This category is striclty reserved for Parts, Services and Accessories. Whole vehicles may not be posted here, even if they are being sold for parts. You may post a vehicle with prices for individual parts such as motor ($123), transmission($123), seats($123), glass($123), etc. where ($123) represents your asking price. Vehicles being sold as a whole (in other words, one price takes all) in the Parts & Accessories category will be removed from the site.

How do I remove my ad from the Parts, Service and Accessories category?
Simply click on the "Feedback" link at the top right and send a quick note requesting that the ad be deleted. Identify your ad by sending the text from the ad or place your mouse pointer over the small photo with your ad and send the 8 digit AD ID number that appears at the bottom of your browser (ex: ssories/12345678/partsdetailinfo.html).

How do I search for multiple makes and models?
If you would like to search for two or more makes and models, you can do so by entering the following in the “What” field: Example: 1997 Honda Prelude, 2003 Acura EL Notice that in this example we use Make Model followed by a comma, so the format would be Make Model, Make Model, Etc. Don’t forget to use the Search Refinement Bar to narrow your results to find your match.

Can I search in a specific metropolitan area?
Everyday we are working towards making it easier to find your match, at this time, you are unable to use metropolitan areas in our “Where” search field.

When I search, sometimes the results are from locations either too large/small.
We have got you covered! Due to our huge inventory, we have added a radial search option that can narrow or expand your search. If you look inside the “Where” search field you will find a drop menu which selects the radius at which we attempt to find your match. If we are unable to find suitable matches within your preselected values then we automatically adjust the radius until we find your match.

Can I search for a specific transmission?
Looking for a “Direct Shift Gearbox”? With our “What” search box we allow you to input the most detailed descriptions of the specific transmission type you need. Remember some people may not use Direct Shift Gearbox in the advertisement; they might list a “Direct Shift Gearbox” as a DSG so try a few different phrases to find your match.
