1997 Plymouth Neon

by mixahs on 03/26/2013
A Resilient Car
This car has definitely had its share of problems, but repairs have typically been easy and inexpensive. I've never considered it to be terribly reliable, yet it has lasted far longer on the road than I ever expected. Low costs on fuel & insurance are a huge plus.

1997 Plymouth Neon

by trish_may81 on 03/13/2013
My neon's Classy
I have had 3 neons so far and this one thus far is better then them all. It is a 4 door however iI would rather a 2 door for a neon easier to get in and out of. I do not like the fact your sitting on the ground however. the NEW Dodge Dart I believe it is that just copme out this year is really one of these a NEON !!! can you believe it?? they changed the name of it but the frame and everything underneath it is a neon.!!

1997 Plymouth Duster

by Shyama on 02/28/2013
Profitably the best ride to drive
Handsome styling is not something generally associated with econocars, but the 1995 Neon looked neat to us when new in the spring of 1994, and its trim, slipper-like shape has held up nicely over time. Styling history will repeat itself this spring as the second-generation Neon reaches Dodge and Plymouth showrooms from the company's Belvedere, Illinois, plant.

The 2000 Neon appears radically different from its predecessor with its faster (the base is moved forward 3 inches) windshield angle, all-new hood, fenders, decklid, roof, quarter panels, and clear-lens headlamps. It feels different with a 37-percent improvement in bending and a 26-percent increase in torsional stiffness over the original car. This extra body rigidity, which chassis engineers say helps quiet the ride and sharpen handling, is provided by a new one-piece body-side aperture, new stiffening ribs in the firewall, sill and center-pillar reinforcements, and added steel and magnesium instrument-panel structure. One of the most important design changes to the Neon was to the doors. They now sport full-frame windows. At speed in the previous Neon, the frameless window glass rattled and leaked air and even water at the rubber seals. Now, the elements are held firmly in check by the channels of the steel frames and premium triple seals. Inside, the Neon gets some unexpected new features like a better grade of fabrics and interior plastic trim, lockable glovebox, pen holder, and roomy hard pockets in the doors. And the Neon also picks up a smidgen of additional interior volume from 101.7 to 103.4 cubic feet. Standard items include folding outside mirrors, variable-speed wipers, floor mats, AM/FM stereo cassette sound system with six speakers, self-dimming interior lights, and four cupholders. Some optional goodies are air c

Great family car!
I'm a single mom with one child and this car is so great to get around in when need be. My daughter loves the fact that we put a custom DVD player in the van and she adores it! Everyday she asks to put a movie on! Great car, great family vechile.

1997 Plymouth Breeze

by plymouth-breeze on 01/21/2013
Very happy with my breeze
I have had a great car since i got it, at 180k i had to replace brake pads. The only thing is that the power steering doesnt like working in the cold, so you just have to warm it up first. I just replaced my head lights because the were not bright. I will also have to replace my windsheild wippers relaced. It is around 65$ to fill my tank and i get around 600 km out of it. As long as you keep it maintained, like oil changes and repairing chips when you get them so that you do not end up with a crack you have to replace, there will be minimum costs for this vehical. and dont forget to give it a bath often so you dont end up with rust problems.

It's Pretty Decent
This is a good car which will last you for some time. I can personally say though that rusting is common on some specific parts of this vehicle.

1998 Plymouth Breeze

by bexx83 on 12/24/2012
Lasted the Test of Time
Our little Plymouth Breeze has over 360k km's on her and is still going. We bought it second-hand for very little money. In the last 12 months we put over 50k km's on it and have only had to put in about $300 worth of work (parts and labor). The fuel economy is actually pretty brilliant, considering the age of the car. I don't know if you can buy them new anymore, but if you're looking for a fairly reliable second-hand, cheap car... go with the Breeze. Parts can be got for cheap almost everywhere!
