Very reliable car, enough horse power for size, and excellent fuel economy.
Doesn't look as sport car, but runs as one for sure.

I wish B200 is 4 wheels drive. I brought it because it has Multi function in the back seats and easy to roll the chairs up for more space to do grocery shopping. However the car itself isn't too stable on bumpy roads.

This is a great minivan alternative for those who do not want to have a larger minivan, yet still want extra storage room. A lot of pep in these vehicles, especially those with the Turbo option. Built by Mercedes, you cannot go wrong.

Very versatile, roomy for 4 adults or can pack in loads of stuff. Gas mileage always high 30s to low 40s mpg, but requires premium. Excellent visibility with high seating position and big windows. Solid, quiet highway cruising yet very nimble in the city. Really like smooth CVT. Mercedes parts and service are quite expensive, so far (60k) has been reliable, but if anything goes wrong after warranty...$$$.

Likes: Lots of passenger space on the inside - especially the back seat. Has all the safety equipment - airbags, ABS, ESP, Brake force distribution, etc. Reasonably fuel efficient.

Dislikes: Mediocre reliability, expensive to repair, small trunk space, poorly positioned front cup holders that are too small.

Summary: A nice run-about that is relatively easy on the gas. Drives well but not overly sporty. However, with all the new compact cars also offering all the safety equipment of this car, it's hard to justify the added cost (unless you really like the MB star and are willing to pay for it).

I bought this vehicle used in 2011. For the size the performance of the Turbo is great, i have no trouble passing other vehicles on the roads at all legal speeds. Fuel economy oveall is average for the engine size. The major issues I had is with interior built and material quality for a premium vehicle. The second issue were brakes, the performance of breaks is one of the best i had but they need a lot of TLC. Mine were making all kind of noise ever so often when you break and when you do not.

This has been a great car for the price. However you have to watch the battery as it will drain when car is parked for 2 weeks.
As you use premium fuel operating costs remain on the higher side for a small vehicle.
After saying all of the above I would still purchase another one.

Well built, very solid hatchback that has a very large interior. Family of four with large dog can travel comfortably together. Handling is much better than I would have imagined. Seats are comfortable. Engine pulls well, but it is a four cylinder (non turbo on my model) so do not expect super fast acceleration. It will more than keep up with traffic, however. The manual gearbox makes it more fun to drive, but is hard to find. Worth the search in my view and provides more control in snow and poor weather. Shifting could be better, but it is not a sports car!

I leased the B200 for 3 years and was very happy with my experience. I had seen the A class in Europe and was very excited when I saw the B class arrive in Canada. I took it for a test drive and that was it!

I did test drive the Turbo version but personally I found the Turbo to provide really sudden acceleration that was a bit jarring. And to be honest in this type of car (i.e. a compact SUV) I don't see the point. I went with the Autotronic CVT transmission which is great for those of us who want to have that feel of a manual transmission (but you can change back to Auto if you're feeling lazy). The option to use Manual was especially handy when driving in snowy conditions - I took my B through some pretty treacherous road conditions & came through with flying colours.

Pros - comfortable & functional interior, TONS of space and fold flat back seats mean you can fit just about anything in this car, great fit & finish as you would expect from a luxury car maker like MB & I really think it's a cute looking car ;) Also great on fuel.

Cons - the ride. I sometimes felt like I was driving a bus (I had been used to a sport car so this was a bit departure) and I would feel every bump in uneven pavement.

I had no issues over my 3 years with the B. I think it would be a great vehicle for a family especially if you were looking for something between a car and an SUV. And assuming you go for the base vs the Turbo model I think it's amazingly reasonable for a luxury car. Really my only reservation in recommending is the ride - it definitely feels like you are driving a SUV vs a car
