Model Overview
Nissan introduced the Micra to great fanfare in 2015, when it became Canada's least-expensive new car. This subcompact hatchback is utterly charming, from its wide-eyed front end to its zippy performance. The Micra is a riot to drive flat out -- especially with the manual transmission -- and the base version is a model of motoring simplicity. If you want a new car at a low price, this is a good way to get one.

Great on gas

Its a fun sexy little car. It turns on a dime. Its affordable and economic on gas. Do not let the size fool yyou. The interior is very comfortable and spacious. I thought it would sound like I was riding a tin can but it doesnt.

On certain vehicles, the rear view camera system does not return to the default setting when the transmission is shifted to reverse. This could cause a reduction in rear visibility if a driver had previously adjusted the camera display. Canadian regulations require that the rear view image returns to its original setting each time the camera is turned on.
Safety Risk:
Reduced rear visibility could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to update the software for the rear view camera.

On certain vehicles equipped with a mechanical key ignition system, a spring in the ignition switch could wear and break. This may allow the ignition key to inadvertently move from the ON position to the accessory (ACC) position while driving, causing the engine to shut off and the airbag system to lose power. The resulting loss of motive power, and change in steering and brake forces could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Additionally, in the event of a crash, this may also cause the airbags not to function. Correction: Dealers will inspect the lot number of the ignition switch, and replace it with a new one if it is affected. Note: Until the correction is performed, owners are advised to remove all objects from the ignition key ring, such as additional keys, key chains, etc.

On certain vehicles, a bad connection at the side airbag sensor connector could cause a momentary communication loss from the side airbag sensor to the Airbag Control Unit (ACU). This would put the system in a backup state, lowering the impact threshold required for a side airbag deployment. If a door is being closed with force while the system is in this backup state, this could cause an unintended curtain airbag, seat-mounted side airbag and seat belt pretensioner deployment in a non-warranted (non-impact) situation, which would increase the risk of injury to occupants. Correction: Dealers will install a jumper harness and replace the side airbag sensor with a new one.

On certain vehicles, the driver's foot could contact the edge of the center console lower trim panel, which could impede smooth accelerator pedal operation. The panel edge could also catch the driver's shoe, potentially resulting in a delay in the driver being able to shift their foot from the accelerator to the brake pedal. On certain vehicles, the driver's (frontal) airbag inflator was built with an incorrect part which could cause the inflator to rupture during a deployment. In a crash, this may cause airbag components to separate, which could allow fragments to be propelled toward vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the driver's (frontal) airbag inflator.
