The Chevrolet Equinox is the brand's entry in the compact crossover utility class. It's a substantial-looking and family-friendly vehicle that follows through with a refined driving feel and a smooth ride. Though classified a compact, the Equinox's interior verges on mid-size roominess thanks in part to sensible styling. Through 2019, the Equinox was notable for a diesel engine option, which was discontinued in 2020.

I love this vehicle it's one of the best vehicles on the market, I drove everything in its class and this is by far the beast vehicle in it's class and i love the surround-view and the adaptive cruise control.

The coating may be too thick on the connection bars for the lower universal anchorage system (UAS) for securing a child or booster seat in the rear seat. As a result, you may not be able to properly attach a child seat in the rear seat using the UAS.
Safety Risk:
A child seat that isn't properly attached could increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Corrective Actions:
General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the bars for the lower universal anchorage system (UAS) in the rear seat. If necessary, the dealer will remove and replace the finish coating on lower anchorage bars. General Motors recommends to install child seats using the rear seat belts, as described in the vehicle owner's manual and child-seat manufacturer's installation guide, until the recall repairs have been completed.

This recall is for aftermarket replacement rear window glass produced by Vitro Automotriz. Certain rear window glass may not have been properly tempered. If the window breaks, the glass may separate into large pieces instead of very small ones.
Note: This is a voluntary recall that is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

Glass that breaks in to large pieces could create a risk of injury.

The company will notify consumers by mail and instruct them to inspect the designation code marked on the rear window glass. Products affected by this recall have the designation “DOT 287” along with the lettering “VMR” (Replacement Market) and a date code that is before July 2019. On certain vehicles, the passenger sensing system may fail to detect a small adult occupying the right front seat due to an error in seat sensor calibration. In the event of a crash severe enough to activate the airbags, the front passenger airbag may not deploy. This could increase the occupant's risk of injury. In addition, this condition can prevent the airbag from turning off when the seat is occupied by a small child.
